| biography:
| Condottiere, born in Perugia, Umbria, C Italy. He learned his military skills alongside Alberico da Barbiano, served antipope John XXIII, and conquered for himself a vast territory in Umbria. He clashed repeatedly with the pope and Neapolitan barons, adding part of Abruzzo and the duchy of Capua to his possessions. His name was given to a type of military technique (braccesca) which was centred on mobility, and was opposed to Muzio Attendolo Sforza's sforzesca. |
