| Scholar, born in Florence, Tuscany, NC Italy. A notary, he translated into the vernacular a number of Latin texts and wrote the Libro de' vizi e delle virtudi (1270), a treatise which follows a soul on its journey to salvation. In its use of allegory it is a forerunner of Dante's The Divine Comedy. |
