| Dancer, choreographer, and ballet director, born in Nyköping, SE Sweden. She studied in England with Kurt Jooss, and later in New York with Martha Graham. In the mid-1940s she toured the European mainland with Svenska Dansteatern, a group she co-founded with Ivo Cramér (1921–44). She was resident choreographer of the Royal Swedish Ballet (1952–7), and formed the Cullberg Ballet at the Swedish National Theatre in 1967. |
