| biography:
| Visionary, born in Lourdes, S France, the daughter of François Soubirous, a miller. She claimed in 1858 to have received 18 apparitions of the Blessed Virgin at the Massabielle Rock in 1858, which has since become a notable place of pilgrimage. She became a nun with the Sisters of Charity at Nevers, and was canonized in 1933. Feast day 18 February or 16 April. |
