| Painter, the last and foremost artist of the Ferrarese school, born in Ferrara, NE Italy. He worked chiefly in the churches and palaces of his native city, in Bologna, and in Rome. The church of San Lorenzo, Ferrara, contains his ‘Adoration of the Magi’, and his ‘Sacrifice to Ceres’ is in the National Gallery, London. |
