| biography:
| De la Salle brother, born at Thuret, Puy-de-Dôme, C France. After education by the De la Salle brothers at Riom, he joined their seminary at Clermont-Ferrand in 1825. In 1841, with his new name of Benildus, he became headmaster and later superior of the foundation of Saugues (Haute-Loire). Through his religious teaching many pupils entered the religious orders. He was canonized in 1967. |
