| Composer, lecturer, and performer, born in Sydney, New South Wales, SE Australia. He studied at Sydney University and at the State Conservatory. Influenced by jazz in his early years, he has used computer-generated sound, and Japanese influences are also strong in his work. Much of his varied output is for film or theatre, including the operas Edward John Eyre and Ned. Other works include a cello concerto, and a concerto for contrabass and orchestra, Shadows of Noh (1989). |
