He served on the Dawes Committee on German reparations, was chairman of the London, Midland & Scottish Railway, and director of Nobel Industries, and on the outbreak of World War 2 was made economic adviser to the government. An expert on taxation, he wrote on this and other financial subjects. He was killed in an air-raid. |
