name: Badarayana

sex: male

biography: The name applied to an unknown Indian philosopher, the reputed author of the Vedanta (or Brahama) Sutra, sometimes identified with the 5th-c sage Vyasa, who is traditionally credited with compiling the Mahabharata. Nothing is known of Badarayana apart from his connection with the Vedanta Sutra, which cannot be dated with certainty. He may simply be a personification of an anonymous process of editing.
