| Biochemist, born in Linköping, SE Sweden. He studied at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, was professor at Uppsala (1932), and director of the Nobel Institute of Biochemistry at Stockholm (1937–70). He was awarded the 1955 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine for his work on oxidation enzymes. |
