| Nicaraguan revolutionary, born in Niquinohome (or La Victoria), W Nicaragua. He led guerrilla resistance to USA occupation forces after 1926, and was later murdered, on the orders of Somoza, near Managua. The Nicaraguan revolutionaries of 1979 (later known as Sandinistas) took him as their principal hero. |
