| Bacteriologist, born in Bamberg, SEC Germany. He studied medicine at Erlangen, Vienna, Munich, and Strasbourg universities, and worked in bacteriology at the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin from 1890. He discovered a blood-serum test for syphilis in 1906 (the Wasserman reaction). |
