| Pharmacologist, born in Uppsala, Sweden. He studied at the University of Lund (1951), and became professor of pharmacology at the University of Göteborg, Sweden (1959, emeritus 1989). He shared the 2000 Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine with Paul Greengard and Eric Kandel for their discoveries concerning signal transduction in the nervous system. |
