| Poet and literary critic, born in Athens, Greece. In 1883 he co-founded the Giornale storico della letteratura italiana (The Historic Journal of Italian literature) and edited it until 1890. He produced the poetry collections Medusa (1880) and Rime della selva (1906), an autobiographical novel Il riscatto (1901), and the critical work Attraverso il Cinquecento (1880). |
