| Psychiatrist, born in Chicago, Illinois, USA. A Tulane University MD, he spent his career on the University of California's psychiatry faculty, mostly at San Diego (1969). His extensive bibliography includes many works on the neurobiology of mental disorders, psychopharmacology, and drug abuse, a specialty in which he served on several national commissions. In 1984 he was awarded a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship. |
