| biography:
| Organ-maker, born in Montpellier, S France. He learned his trade from his father, Dominique (1776–1862), who won a competition for the construction of the organ of St Denis. Aristide completed work on the organ, as well as constructing 500 instruments for use as far away as South America. He was also creator of the grandiose ‘orgue romantique française’. |
