| English aristocrat, the elder sister of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough. In 1665 she entered the service of the Duchess of York, wife of the future James II, and became his mistress. With James she had two daughters, and two sons: James Fitzjames (Duke of Berwick), and Henry Fitzjames (Duke of Albemarle). |
