| Writer, born in Vienna, Austria. He studied law, then worked at the provincial high court in Vienna before becoming a freelance writer and director of the Burg Theater there. He gained early success with his poetry, which contained social critical elements as well as erotic themes. Although his first plays are Naturalist, his style gradually evolved towards Expressionism, as in Armut (1914) and Liebe (1916). |
