| Constructivist sculptor and painter, born in Oryol, W Russia. In Moscow he helped to form the Suprematist group, but in 1920 he broke away from the Suprematists, and issued the Realist Manifesto with his brother. This ultimately caused their exile from Russia, and he migrated to Paris. Several of his completely nonfigurative constructions (mainly in copper and bronze) are in the Museum of Modern Art, New York City. |
