| biography:
| Airman and writer, born in Lyon, SC France. A commercial and wartime pilot, his philosophy of ‘heroic action’ is found in such novels as Vol de nuit (1931, Night Flight). He is also known for his popular children's fable for adults, Le Petit Prince (1943, The Little Prince). He was declared missing after a flight to North Africa in World War 2, and the wreckage of his plane was found off the coast of France in 1999. |
