| Daughter of George II of Great Britain, born in Herrenhausen, NC Germany. She married William of Orange, the future Stadtholder William IV. She had one son, later Stadtholder William V, and one daughter, Caroline. As guardian of her son during his minority, she tried to strengthen the authority of the stadtholder against the regents, but made many enemies through lack of political acumen. |
