| biography:
| Singer and musical satirist, born in London, UK. She studied singing at the Royal College of Music, London. She worked as a folk singer for the BBC (1935–40), and in various roles with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (1942–6), before making her debut as a concert comedienne in New York City (1948). She took her show to many cities throughout the world (1948–60), and was resident in Australia (1968–75) before returning to Canada. |
