| Embroideress, born in Little Bolton, Greater Manchester, NW England, UK. She studied at Glasgow School of Art (1897–1900), and was a member of its staff from 1901 to 1920, latterly as head of the embroidery department. She was influential in advocating new methods of teaching embroidery, and wrote an instruction manual called Educational Needlecraft. She had many ecclesiastical commissions, and her embroidered panels decorate many Glasgow interiors. |
