| Film actress and director, born in California, USA. She won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Prizzi's Honor (1985), directed by her father John Huston, and Oscar nominations for Enemies: A Love Story (1989) and The Grifters (1990). Later films include her role as Morticia in The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1993), Bitter Moon (1992), Phoenix (1997), Buffalo 66 (1998), and The Royal Tenenbaums (2001). She made a directorial debut with Bastard Out Of Carolina (1996) and directed and starred in Agnes Browne (1999). |
