| Italian politician, born in Codogno, Lombardy, N Italy. He was a socialist deputy (1900–19) and headed the Confederazione Generale del Lavoro (General Workers Union). He fought for workers' rights, and with Bissolati and Bonomi in 1912 founded the Partito Socialista Riformista (Reformist Socialist Party). |
