| biography:
| Artist and sculptor, born in Cheshire, NWC England, UK. He was brought up in Leeds and studied at Bradford College of Art and Preston Polytechnic. He works closely with nature, producing ephemeral works assembled from natural materials, such as stone, wood, foliage and water, which are then photographed. More permanent works include the series of chalk arches made for ‘Sculpture at Goodwood’ (1995) which are now sited in his studio in Scotland. His Sheepfolds project in Cumbria, to rebuild c.100 traditional drystone sheep corrals, was completed in 2000 and is open to the public. |
