| Composer and conductor, born in Vienna, Austria. He studied at the Vienna Conservatory, and conducted in Vienna (1906–11), Prague (1911–27), and Berlin (1927–32). His compositions, in post-Romantic style, include seven complete and six incomplete operas, orchestral works, chamber music, choral works, and songs. In 1934 he emigrated to the USA. |
