In 568–9 he took his people from Pannonia to Italy, and conquered Veneto. He established a duchy at Cividale, invaded Lombardy, conquered Milan (569), and entered Pavia (571) after a long siege. He installed himself at Verona, but was killed by Rosmond together with the squire Elmichi. |
