| Writer and journalist, born in Voghera, Lombardy, N Italy. A prolific music, theatre and art critic, his output includes poetry (Matinée, 1983), numerous essays (Un paese senza, 1980), novels (L'anonimo lombardo, 1959; La bella di Lodi, 1972), and short stories (Le piccole vacanze, 1956, 1971). He was a member of the avant-garde literary movement Gruppo 63 which took issue with the Italian literature of the 1950s and was influenced by structuralist theories. |
