| Scholar, born in Padua, Veneto, NE Italy. He was a diplomat and tried unsuccessfully to free Padua from the dalla Scala and da Carrara families' domination. He wrote historical works such as Historia augusta (1313–14) and De gestis italicorum post mortem Henrici VII (1313–29), and the tragedy Ecerinis (1315). |
