| Film-maker, born in Orléans, C France. Originally a jazz musician, he graduated from L'IDHEC (L'Institut des hautes études cinématographiques) and in his early career produced some successful films, including Série Noire (1979) and Le choix des armes (1981) with Gerard Dépardieu. Dépardieu and Catherine Deneuve appeared in Fort Saganne (1984), but his greatest success came in 1991 with Tous les matins du monde, again starring Dépardieu, the sensitively told story of the composer Marin Marais and his tutor, for which Corneau received two Césars and national and international success. |
