| Organist, born in Rouen, NW France. He won the Prix de Rome for composition in 1914, and became renowned throughout Europe for his organ recitals. The composer of many chorales and an organ concerto, he also wrote on improvisation, and directed the Conservatoires at Fontainebleau (1947–54) and Paris (1954–6). |
