| Italian politician and patriot, born in Milan, Lombardy, N Italy. He helped organize the Cinque giornate di Milano rising, and took part in the defence of the Roman Republic and Garibaldi's expedition of the Thousand. He became a deputy of the radical left in 1860, and promoted the Jacini land report (1877–84). |
