| biography:
| Film-maker, born in Brussels, Belgium. Her first film was La Pointe courte in 1955. An intelligent and perceptive director, her film Sans toit ni loi (1985) about the life and death of a young marginale played by Sandrine Bonnaire, won the Lion d'Or at Venice. Jan B (1987) is a film about Jane Birkin and herself, and Jacquot de Nantes (1991) is in homage to Jacques Demy, her partner. In addition she made short documentaries for television and cinema. |
