| Poet, born in Sevilla, SW Spain. He often lacks inspiration, but like most Andalusian poets, he concentrates on expressing a feeling for colour, and uses his lexical dexterity in the manner of Quevedo. His books are Primavera portátil (Paris, 1934), Lyra Sacra (Sevilla, 1939), Los gozos del río. Homenaje a Debussy (Barcelona, 1940), Arpa fiel (1940), Sonetos a Italia (1942), Misa de alba en Fátima y Gozos de S Isidro (1955), Égloga de Gabriel Miró y Fábula del Peñón de Ifach (1957), and Oda náutica a Cádiz (Cadiz, 1957). The best selection is Las mejores poesías (Barcelona, 1955). |
