| Writer, born in Zwolle, NC Netherlands. Originally an accountant, he gave up his job to travel, mostly in the Balkan area. He began writing poetry, but turned to travel stories and novels. His travel experiences became material for his books, often set in remote mountains where the passions of the people run high. An adventurer and against any form of dictatorship, he became a presenter for Radio Oranje (Radio Orange) during World War 2. |
