| Psychoanalyst and translator, born in Kanezuga, Galicia. He emigrated to the USA at age 15 and studied medicine at Columbia University (1903). In 1908 he became the first Freudian psychoanalyst in the US, and is best known as the translator of Sigmund Freud's works into English, including the compendium The Basic Writings of Sigmund Freud (1938). |
